Meehan Drilling Ltd require an experienced Installation, Service and Maintenance Electrician. The position will be based in Co. Louth but travelling throughout the country will be required. The ideal candidate would be a qualified electrician with 3 – 5 years proven experience in electrical maintenance preferably on water mechanical & electrical equipment. Experience should include in wiring and fault finding on 3 phase electrical motors & starters including DOL, Star Delta, Soft start & Variable speed drive installation. The role will involve installation, calibrating, servicing and fault finding a wide range of borehole pumping & treatment systems. Proven ability to service, maintain & fault find electrical issues necessary. Responsibilities: The role will primarily involve installation and electrical maintenance work in the borehole water industry. Installation of cable containment systems, mains cabling and low voltage, field and panel terminations. Instrumentation service, installation and calibration. Motor & Instrumentation signal verification to PLC including control function verification. Ability to follow Control panel schematics and trouble shoot control panel faults. Electrical and mechanical fault finding and rectification. The job can involve heavy manual work at times. Issuing service report sheets and calibration certificates. Skills / Attributes: A minimum of 3 – 5 years experience within water industry. Technical knowledge of 3 phase motors, starters, pumps, pumps, date logger, flow meters and associated instrumentation. Fault finding in general. Working with pumps, motors, pumps, controllers, control panels, instruments. Experience with PLC’s, automation and telemetry would also be an advantage. Completion of daily reports and H&S forms as required for day to day works on site. Education Requirements; Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation or RECI or ECSSA certified Electrician.
