Assistant Graphic Designer. Role Location: Co Louth. Permanent: Cosmetics Sector. Role Overview: The Assistant Graphic Designer, New Product Development (NPD), will work alongside senior designers and have a responsibility to create and sign off artwork on a steady flow of graphic artwork requests for marketing material such as web banners, flyers, point of sale material, product imagery, instore and trade exhibition graphics in line with brand guidelines and within a fast working environment. The role also includes responsibilities in producing and proofing artwork for new product packaging and prototypes. Including editing and creating key lines and packaging artwork for current products as well as for new product launches (domestic and international. The role includes administration tasks for new product development projects and assisting in project planning. Updating and creating new product development process documents, and documenting artwork and new product development files. The Graphic Designer/ New product Administrator will also assist as required in carrying out research tasks in line with research and development, new product development concepts and projects. Role Deliverables: 1. Create artwork for marketing material such as web banners, flyers and point of sale in line with brand guidelines. 2. Assist in creation / proofing of product packaging. 3. Creating key lines for packaging on flow wrap films, bags, boxes. 4. Produce packaging/ new product prototypes and mock ups. 5. Produce/ reproduce packaging artwork across new skus. 6. Maintain and ensure brand consistency. 7. Maintaining the management system for technical artwork / packaging/ NPD files. 8. Administration for new product development projects and assisting in project planning. 9. Generate presentations/ process documents / artwork pieces as required. Gathering product information such as barcodes, product codes, optimisation documents. 10. Support NPD/ R&D Manager in research and new product development tasks as required. Experience and Qualifications: Ideally Hons Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or similar related design discipline. Ideally 3-year experience in FMCG packaging, or a fast-moving graphic environment .Proficient in Adobe Creative suite (preferably windows not MAC), mainly Illustrator. Photoshop and experienced in developing artwork for print. Understand the implications & requirements of cosmetic packaging regulations. Must be extremely detail-oriented and an experienced proof-reader; ability to proof quickly while maintaining exceptionally high attention to detail and accuracy. Creative problem-solving, and strong visual and spatial Skills. Ability to produce prototypes and mock ups when required. Must be highly organized, with demonstrated project management skills with ability to work under tight deadlines. Excellent time management and can prioritize with minimal supervision. Proven ability to balance multiple, competing priorities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
