JOB TITLE: Project Resident Engineer – Civil Engineering (Water/Wastewater. We have opportunities for Project Resident Engineers who will contribute as key members of our Water Projects Delivery team across our sites in the Dublin and East Midlands Region. The successful candidates will become responsible for the delivery of the construction phase of water related projects. The Role. Responsible for the supervision and associated administration of all the construction works in proposed projects and the implementation of all orders and instructions from the Employer’s Representative and Client along with other such duties as may be assigned by the Client; Establish, implement and manage site procedures consistent with RPS policies and guidance for the monitoring and reporting on works being carried out to the Employer’s Requirements and ensure that the Employer’s Representative and Client are fully informed of all issues arising on site; Monitor and ensure project compliance with statutory, environmental, heritage and archaeological constraints and represent the Client on matters associated with Stakeholder management; Monitor the Contractor for compliance with the Safety Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 and in doing so utilise any associated Client related instructions or processes; Management of a site based team and co-ordination of technical resources; Chairing of site meetings and generation of minutes, weekly/monthly reporting on progress, review and reporting of contractual issues and progress particularly with respect to milestone payments; Where necessary, fulfil the role of Design Site Representative, carry out design reviews, and report on Contractor’s design proposals; Assessment of measurement claims, cash flow monitoring and associated reporting; Identification and reporting on interdisciplinary conflicts; Assessment of commissioning and test plans together with performance monitoring; Contributes to project team performance by communicating essential information, coordinating actions, reviewing open issues/action items, sharing information in team meetings while focused on project completion within timelines; Enhance company reputation by taking ownership over new and diverse client requests/challenges, proactively exploring opportunities to add extra value to job accomplishments. The Candidate. Hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications), or equivalent professional qualification, in engineering; Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) beneficial; At least 15 years’ post graduate relevant experience with at least 10 years’ relevant experience on site, supervising Civil Engineering Works of which minimum of 7 years’ experience on site in the delivery of Major Capital Infrastructural Schemes is required; Experience administering contracts using both the Public Works & FIDIC Contracts; Good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and regulations; Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), team working skills and analytical skills; Knowledge of Traffic Management and Underground services; Knowledge of geotechnical, structural and hydraulic design issues and Environmental Regulations; Ability to lead and motivate, willingly takes ownership of issues and motivates team to achieve best solution; Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations; Ability to work in compromising situations and able to devise new approaches to problems encountered; Knowledge of process engineering would be advantageous; Good communication and stakeholder liaison skills and experience; Excellent IT skills and familiar with relevant computer applications. Having completed the following health and safety training along with relevant certification would be a considerable advantage (state those completed in CV): Safe Pass. Manual Handling. Managing Safety in Construction. 3 Day Construction Skills Certification Scheme Signing Lighting and Guarding of Roadworks. 1 Day H&S at Road Works. Working At Heights – Harness Training. Confined Space Entry. The Location: The successful candidates will be based on sites, initially the East, with roles in the Lough/Meath area.
