Process Plant & Facilities Engineer. Role Type: Permanent. Location: Co Louth. Relevant Sectors: Dairy/Distillery/Liquid Beverages/Chemical. The purpose and scope of this role is to implement the process plant and facilities engineering strategy. The scope of this role includes maintaining and developing all aspects of the mechanical and chemical process plant and facilities with the objective of optimising safety standards, process control and efficiencies on site. Permanent post based in Co Louth area. Operational and capital budget control, maintenance engineering and maintenance systems also form a key part of this role. The role also includes performance improvement in cost, product quality and Environmental, Health & Safety. Provide support to the managers on site with strong engineering leadership and with their collaboration, drive and deliver improvement in operational performance and control and deepen process understanding. Ensure best practice approach is applied to all aspects of engineering and that learning is shared. In addition, liaise with external bodies in order to ensure continued compliance with current legislation. Provide advice, coaching and 'consultancy' support to the site to ensure compliance policies and standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES. Identify and implement process controls and manufacturing standard operating procedures to meet or exceed required performance in EHS, yields, quality and cost. Manage operational budgets, including repairs & maintenance budgets. Complete all requirements for month end financial reporting to the required timelines. Carry out problem solving to identify root causes and implement engineering corrective actions in process plant and throughout the facility in general as and when problems occur. Improve the capability of processes by reducing process variability and increasing process stability using Lean tools. Identify and implement plant, process and equipment changes to improve output, efficiency, cost, quality, safety, and productivity of distilling, maturation and bottling operations and to meet all Key Performance Indicators and Continuous Improvement targets as required. Identify and implement process, equipment and tooling changes to enable introduction of new and improved processes and products efficiently and in a timely manner. Manage the implementation of capital projects as assigned. Implement and maintain all Master Data in the business system, NAV/SAP, including all ITEMS and BOMS. Manage the product part numbering system. Maintain and develop the asset management system, including asset identification and tagging and introduction and scheduling of planned maintenance procedures. Drive improvements across Irish Operations in HSE performance, process improvement, plant efficiency, utilisation and site appearance. Keep abreast of developments in the market place, in processes, technologies and performance. Take ownership of all EHS engineering issues associated with distilling, maturation and bottling operations and implement solutions that meet Irish Legislation. Identify all training needs required to facilitate the implementation of Lean and in achieving performance improvement targets. Provide support to ensure compliance with health, safety & environmental legislation by auditing systems and procedures, across Irish Operations, to comply with legislation, company policies and the requirements of the business. In conjunction with site managers, develop and deliver programs to reduce water and energy consumption. With site managers establish and implement process plant hygiene standards. Ensure audit actions are implemented and tracked to timely completion. Carry out internal audits to support site managers to comply with our ISO systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001) to the satisfaction of our external auditors. KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Strong working knowledge in most, if not all of the subject areas, particularly EHS, CI and engineering. Flexibility and adaptability to deal with and influence at all levels in the organization. Collaborative style with strong influencing and partnering skills. Strong coaching and mentoring skills to encourage high levels of engagement across all levels in the organization. Self-driven through personal development, embracing change and bringing passion and commitment to work. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:Qualified to degree level in an appropriate engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical or Process Control Engineering. Broad based operational experience ideally encompassing direct leadership in a manufacturing operation, leadership of specific technical functions. To carry out this role successfully, a minimum of five years practical experience working in a mechanical/chemical process environment or related process industry. Significant experience in delivering multi-disciplined mechanical / chemical engineering projects and general facilities management. Use of Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing tools to drive a systematic, data driven approach to problem solving, including the use of DMAIC, 8D, 5WHY, FISHBONE ANALYSIS, STATICAL ANALYSIS AND MINITAB would be an advantage.
